Peak is a children’s novel by Roland Smith concerning the physical and emotional challenges that face a fourteen-year-old boy as he climbs Mount Everest. It was first published in 2007. Peak won the 2007 National Outdoor Book Award (Children’s Category).
The book is about a 14-year-old boy named Peak Marcello and his family. Peak is arrested for scaling the Woolworth Building in Manhattan, New York and spraypainting 3 blue mountains on the top. While in the court room, the judge decides to let Peak go on one requirement – he must go with his father out of the country to Tibet.
