WAYNE, NJ, February 12, 2008 – JVC announced today its first-ever NASCAR sponsorship in support of its new line of Everio G-Series Hard Disk Camcorders, leveraging the consumer reach and brand loyalty of America’s fastest-growing spectator sport.

JVC and Jay Robinson Racing will debut the #4 JVC Chevy Monte Carlo, driven by Robert Richardson Jr., on February 16th in the Camping World 300 at the Daytona International Speedway. The vehicle will don a Ruby Red Everio Gem color scheme for the first and most prestigious race of the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series season, as well as four additional primary sponsor races during 2008 (to be announced). JVC will also serve as an associate sponsor for the remainder of the 2008 Nationwide Series schedule.

“NASCAR’s broad consumer fan base presents JVC with a unique branding opportunity to interact with customers and retailers across the country,” said Karl Bearnarth, senior vice president, marketing, JVC Company of America. “We are thrilled that the #4 JVC Chevy will make its debut at the renowned Daytona International Speedway and we look forward to a successful season with the Jay Robinson Racing team.”

Now in his second season, Richardson Jr. placed third fastest overall during the Nationwide Series test day on January 18th at Daytona International Speedway, laying down a lap time of 49.374 seconds. “Robert has shown great potential and is the type of promising young driver that JVC is proud to be associated with,” added Bearnarth.

In addition, JVC will bring its Mobile Consumer Experience Showroom to select Nationwide Series races, offering consumers an opportunity to see, hear and touch the brand’s latest flat panel LCD televisions, front video projectors and Everio Hard Disk Camcorders through interactive exhibits and demonstrations.

The sponsorship gives JVC and the Everio brand an opportunity to showcase its pioneering camcorder technology to millions of NASCAR fans nationwide. Launched in January, the 2008 JVC G-Series Everio Hard Disk Camcorders feature a new, super-slim design that makes them the world’s smallest hard drive camcorders* on the market and offer new functions that make operation simpler and more intuitive. Also new is a touch-sensitive scroll bar that simplifies operation and a new design that’s some 20 percent smaller than last year’s entry-level model. Available in sapphire blue, ruby red, diamond silver and onyx black, the G-Series features two 30GB models and two 60GB models, as well as a top-end model that offers higher-resolution digital stills by virtue of a 7 Megapixel CCD.
