Trend Micro’s Web security solutions protect Cisco Integrated Services Router customers from a changing Internet threat environment, increasing worker productivity and protection of digital information.

Cupertino, Calif. – April 8, 2008 – Trend Micro Incorporated (TSE: 4704), a global leader in Internet content security, announced today that it is extending its relationship with Cisco by integrating Trend Micro Web security services into the Cisco® Integrated Services Router (ISR) platform.

The Cisco IOS® Content Filtering solution is an easy-to-deploy, services-based offering that delivers real-time, in-the-cloud, global Web filtering data feeds onto Cisco ISRs. This solution will provide small businesses, educational institutions, branch offices and retailers with a cost-effective way to protect themselves from Web-based threats and enforce acceptable use policies for Web traffic.

Cisco IOS Content Filtering, part of the Cisco IOS Integrated Threat Control framework, monitors and regulates all Web activities by blocking or restricting access to certain Web sites. By using Trend Micro’s global network of research, service and support centers committed to constant threat surveillance and attack prevention, the two companies are better able to help businesses mitigate the risks of unrestricted Internet use. Network administrators can use the router management tool to set security policies using keywords or one, or more, of 80-plus categories to limit Internet access. While Web threats are a major issue, Trend Micro’s Web threat protection and URL filtering technologies prevent users from accessing malicious and inappropriate Web sites, avoiding inappropriate use of company resources, legal liability and productivity losses.
Cisco IOS Content Filtering will be available as an optional subscription service for the Cisco 800, 1800, 2800, and 3800 Series Integrated Services Routers. The offering will be sold and supported by Cisco and its authorized channel partners.

“Trend Micro and Cisco have worked together for the past four years to deliver comprehensive and flexible network security solutions to more effectively protect businesses from complex, unpredictable and ever-increasing Web threats,” said Punit Minocha, vice president of business development for Trend Micro. “Trend Micro is pleased to further this commitment to provide greater security for Cisco customers. Our goal is to meet the security needs of businesses so that they can focus on what they do best.”

“We are happy to extend our relationship with Trend Micro in providing this protection for Cisco ISR customers,” said Tom Russell, senior director of product management for Cisco’s Security Technology Group. “The integration of Trend Micro’s content filtering technology into the ISR provides our customers with important protection within the network.”
