Yahoo! Appoints Scott Thompson Chief Executive Officer

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO), the premier digital media company, today announced the appointment of Scott Thompson as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 9, 2012 , at which time Tim Morse will resume his role as Chief Financial Officer. Thompson has also been appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors, effective January 9, 2012.

Some 240 workers will be affected by shutdown
GEORGE TOWN: NEC Computers Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd is closing its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Bukit Tengah Industrial Estate, Penang.
Executive vice-president Bernard Saw said some 240 workers would be affected by the shutdown.
“We will initiate the shutdown process in May and the whole exercise should be completed before the year ends.
“After the shutdown, we will still maintain through our authorised service providers support for our laptop and personal computers (PC) users,” he told StarBiz.
