There is one important thing you need to do before you start answering questions or posting. Make sure your signature line is squared away. Ideally you should only have one link in your signature line pointing to your blog. Your signature is not the place to try and convert your customers. The space is to small for you to get your message across. Leave it up to your bog.
Let your blog do the heavy lifting of converting visitors
There are people who believe a blog is not the right choice for your signature line. They say a blog is not a good marketing tool. It has too many distractions, and opportunities to leave the site. While that may have been true in the past, it’s not the case anymore.
Your blog is the best place for people to find out more about you, and your message. There is much more room on a blog to market to people. You can put opt-in forms on the sidebar, make special offers with a post and even have hover ads on your blog. Plenty of opportunities and tools to engage your readers.
Check The Rules Before Posting
Before you add a signature line, and start posting away make sure that the forum allows links in a signature line. Some forums don’t care what is in your signature line. Others have some rules as to what you can include and the length, and some forums don’t allow any links or even a signature line.
Most of the times any rules of the forum will be on a sticky post at the top of a category. So look around and see if you can find a post that outlines the rules. Then make sure you follow them.
