Ping dalam blog adalah amat penting sekali. Lebih banyak senarai ping, lebih terdedah blog kita dalam internet.

Dalam blogging ping adalam mekanisma push berasaskan XML-RPC yang dimana weblog memberitahu server(dalam senarai ping) bahawa kandungan telah dikemaskini. Isyarat XML-RPC akan dihantar pada 1 atau lebih server ping dimana akan generate senarai blog yang mempunyai artikel baru. Kebanyakan scrip blog seperti wordpress akan secara automatik ping ke senarai server ping ketika blogger cipta artikel baru atau update artikel yang lama.
