Out of the rumor mill comes the 16GB iPhone, now official. Ever since the 16GB iPod touch was announced in September, we all knew it was just a matter of time until Apple could bung the same NAND chip into their chubbier iPhone. The Surprise is a new 32GB iPod touch for the same $499. Both are available immediately.

We benchmarked the MacBook Air against the MacBook and MacBook Pro to see how it held up comparatively. Predictably, the MacBook Pro outperformed its counterparts in the majority of our tests. But the MacBook Air (1.6 GHz Intel, 2 GB RAM) went toe-to-toe with the MacBook (2 GHz Intel, 1 GB RAM) in many of our tests, falling just short in most.

The Nokia N95 is an absolutely jaw-dropping incredible device. It would be doing it a huge disservice to simply call it a mobile phone. What can you call a jewel of electronic wizardry which incorporates a 5 megapixel camera, satellite navigation, media player, a full suite of PDA features and, oh yes, even makes phone calls? Some of my first computing was done on an Apple. OK, it was really a Franklin ACE 1000, which was an Apple II clone that Steve Jobs or Steve Wozniak quickly and decisively crushed into oblivion via a lawsuit.
