I tried again having disabled the dbus module for E and it doesn’t
seem to make a difference.

Definitely a problem with dbus on Debian testing/unstable, guess no
one else has run into it. I’ll see if I can track it down and report
it to those guys.

[e-users] idea: xinerama zones and virtual desktops

Hi, Rasterman, people!

I’ve got an idea, but couldn’t understand, where it came from. Now I
know, explanation below.

The idea: the usual configuration is having one monitor and 4
horizontal virtual desktops. Now add an extra monitor to the right of
the first one. Isn’t it natural, that we could see SECOND virtual
desktop on the right monitor? Then we scroll one virtual desktop RIGHT.
Now the left monitor displays the second virtual desktop. What about
the right monitor? Of course, it now displays the 3rd virtual desktop.

Where it came from. I am not sure cause I don’t control 100% of my mind
activity :) I think that idea was inspired by “Compiz VirtualCube”
virtual desktops system.

What do you think?
Best regards, Ildar

Maybe the module is already loaded, so you just have to go in the properties to disable it.

I’ve just verified, if your file manager is not enabled, you can’t get any icons on Desktop. Thus it is :)

Just go to control panel, and at the left bottom you’ll find “file manager”

is it ok ?
